From Phakding our trail crosses the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi. The walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill, with magnificent views of Thermasarkhu (6,608m), then reaching a small village of Monjo, the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. A short descent to the Jorsaleand Village and the trail levels for sometime. We are now heading towards Namche Bazaar- the walk along the riverbed is pleasant before winding uphill path, with magnificent view of Kwangde peak, Kusum kangru Mt.Everest- Nuptse wall,Lhotse and Taweche peak in the background. Namche Bazaar is the capital of Sherpa people, distinct for its colourful houses, monasteries located at high altitude. We will be careful to avoid altitude sickness.

DAY 4: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Suggested activities on this rest day includes a short walk uphill to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter, a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snowcapped giants and the valleys below. We will visit Sagarmatha Museum that consists of information regarding the history of the Himalayas, geographic, culture, mountaineering flora and fauna of this region. Afternoon is spared for leisure.

DAY 5: Trek to Tyangboche (3867m) – approx. 5 hours.

The walk is fairly easy for the first half, as trail sees few ups and downs overlooking magnificent view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thermasharkhu and Kwangde-ri peak. After two to three hours we will reach Phungitenga (3,250m), a small settlement with couple of teahouses and a small Nepalese Army barrack in the midst of the alpine woods of mostly silver fir blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees. Walk from here is strenuous and involves an hour or two on the winding trail through the shade of woods till we reach Thyangboche Monastery or Ghompa, our overnight spot. This beautiful spot offers views of the majestic beautiful peak of Ama Dablam with Everest looming above the Nuptse wall in the north and Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards northeast.

DAY 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m)/5-6 hrs.

Today our trail descends to Dingoche, a small village with Chortens and Mani stonewalls and nunnery. Further ahead we will cross a suspension bridge over Imja Khola and gradually ascend to Pengboche with the towering view of Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in Everest region. Trail continues along Imja Valley opening up into the confluence of Imja River and Lobuche river and then to Dingboche. Dingboche is the last Sherpa settlement with beautiful terraced field enclosed by stone wall.Barley, buckwheat and potatoes are some local major crops.

Day 7: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

We will take a complete rest day at Dingboche, however we will take time to explore around the area. The valley offers some good views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Imjatse Peak (Island peak), Makalu et al.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)/4-5 hrs

After early morning breakfast, we start our trekking towards Lobuche. For a first few minutes we walk through the romantic Yak grazing yields with the consistent views of Tawache peak & Cholatse, until a wooden bridge. Further from here the trail leads to the Khumbu Glacier with impressive views of Khumbutse (6,623m), Lingtren (6,697m), Pumori (7,145m) and Mahalangur Himal. Another hour’s walk upstream, we reach Lobuche, our overnight stop.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche -Gorak Shep (5,160m) – Everest Base Camp (5,364m) Gorakshep 7-8 hrs

The first hour of today’s walk involves gradual ascent along the grassy field past a mass of rocky moraine. You will be able to see icy-glacial pond and icebergs down below Khumbu glacier. A short downhill walk from here will bring you to Gorakshep, on an almost flat land that forms the base of Kalapatthar (5,545m) and Mt.Pumori (7,145m). Gorakshep hosts three teahouses where we take a longing break. Before long we will continue our journey towards the Everest Base Camp and further to the Khumbu Ice-fall. The track to the base camp is often misleading, so we will follow our lead Sherpa. Every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier. This stretch of walk is quite strenuous due to high altitude and thin air, and also as it passes over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, until the base camp. Once you reach EBC, a great view of the Khumbu icefall awaits you. Later we will retrace our journey back to Gorakshep for overnight.

Day 10: Trek from Gorak Shep – Kala Patthar (5,545m) – Pheriche (4,280m)/7-8 hrs

We will wake up before dawn and begin our prized journey towards Kalapatthar. The walk will be physically quite demanding, however it is worth a lifetime. On reaching the top ridge of Kalapatthar, a rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori, you will be awestruck by the spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Lho-la. Watching the sunrise over Everest is one of the most extraordinary highlights of this trek. The view of Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier is equally superb. Spending a wonderful time here we will descend back to Gorakshep and then continue walk to Pheriche. The walk is mostly downhill and will reach Pherice, our overnight stop, by afternoon.

DAY 11: Trek to Namche Bazar

We will be trekking to Namche Bazar from Phirche. We will have to cross Pangboche and then Tengboche today. On the way you can see beautiful Rhododendron and Juniper trees. We will have our lunch on the way. After crossing the Prayer Flag Festooned Bridge over Dudh Koshi River we will move along the River trail then reach Sansa, a major trial junction in this area. Then we will reach Kyangjuma 3570m from where we can see the beautiful Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Thamserku. Then we will walk down toward Namche. On the way we can see wildlife like mountain deer, snow leopard etc. On reaching Namche we will relax and stay the night there.

DAY 12: Trek to Lukla

The trail decends steeply so we have to be very careful. We will be crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi. We can see many Rhododendron, and pine trees on the way and we can also get the view of beautiful snow chapped mountains. We will be crossing Sherpa Villages where you can experience the impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayer flags. On arriving Lukla, we can get fresh and enjoy out last day of the trek.

DAY 13: Fly to Kathmandu

We will have our breakfast and then grab our bags and move towards the Tenjing Hillary Airport from where we will be flying back to Kathmandu. After the exciting trek you can relax at the hotel as this will be your last day in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final departure

Today is your last day in Kathmandu. Hope you have enjoyed your trip with us in Nepal. As per your flight time you will be transferred to the international Airport for your departure back to your country. We hope to see you again.

What does grading (Easy, Moderate, Adventurous, Challenging) means?

“Grading” is a term used for rating treks based on difficulty. We have four grade of trekking in Nepal i.e. Easy, Moderate, Adventurous and Challenging- the challenges in terms of both technicality and geography increase as we move higher in altitude.

Easy Treks

No previous trek experience and any physical preparation are required to attempt this trek. An interest in walking will be enough to take up such treks. Such treks usually vary from 2 days hike to 5 days trekking and can reach up to an altitude of 3000 m.

Moderate Treks

Moderate Treks need at least 6-7 hours of daily walking every day which will require crossing 4000 m above high altitude passes, and long and exhausting walks through often rough trails, rocks and boulders.

Adventurous Treks

Adventurous treks require previous trekking experience and technical knowledge. Besides, it involve 6-7 hours walking through rough trails and crossing high passes as high as 5000 m.

Challenging Treks

These are long days trekking with longer hours challenging walks passing through high altitude above 5000 m, often involving difficult terrains and glacier and snow walking. No doubt you will need to be mentally and physically fit and in excellent health condition.

What is altitude sickness?

Altitude sickness is also known as Acute Mountain Sickness which generally occurs when people ascend too quickly in altitudes of over 3000 m. Altitude sickness is the major problem when you are trekking in Nepal. And it is really necessary for you to study the causes, symptoms and treatment of the attitude sickness before trekking and climbing in Nepal. An average of three people per year dies due to the Altitude sickness. While trekking and climbing in Nepal it is necessary to adjust your schedule for treks above 3,000 meters. It is better if you to climb no more than 400 meters per day when you are climbing above 3000 meters. If you fail to allow time for adaptation, you may develop symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). You can easily treat such AMS with a day’s rest. So before trekking in Nepal especially in higher altitude, basic awareness of AMS is necessary for safe trek.

What happens if there’s an emergency?

Generally, you are not likely to face any emergency but if the situation turns serious, then you can radio service for a helicopter evacuation. It can cost you up to $1500-$2500 (even more depending upon the location and situation) for a helicopter evacuation and it requires a guarantee of payment before the helicopter takes off. If you register with your embassy, then this process can be done in much speed. However, if the case is not so serious, then you can find some health posts nearby for check-up. So, we recommend you to have necessary travel insurance which can cover all those expenses.

Is there an emergency contact number?

Yes. You can dial 9751000991 anytime from anywhere. If you are using international number you need to put our country code 00977 or if you are dialing from local number in Kathmandu, avoid the code.

Do I need to tip my guide and porters? How much would that be?

This is very difficult thing to determine. We have seen everything from 10USD to 500 USD per person being tipped to guides and porters. Tipping is not required, but it is a small way to show your appreciation to your guides and local porters . The level of the tip should reflect the level of personal involvement with your guide.

How can I book my trip in advance?

If you are traveling in high tourist season i.e. between October to November and March to April, you have to book the tour six to ten months beforehand. Because of the limitation of the infrastructure in tourism industry in Nepal , you are being asked to book the trip in advance.

What is the mode of payment?

We accept major credit cards such as VISA, Master and American Express. You can use any of above credit card to pay us. You can also pay us either through Western Union Money Transfer or PayPal or Direct Bank Transfer.

I want to extend my trip any recommendation?

Yes! Just let us know your interest, we can customize package according to your need. You can have other activities such as Mountain Flight which will cost $176 for 1 Hour flight, rafting, expedition, bird watching tours, jungle safari and many other adventurous activities in Nepal. Note: If you have any questions or queries, please free to just drop us e-mail or contact us. We will shortly reply you with all information that you need.
